Let's pack the stands with MAROON AND GOLD!! ************************** This past weekend the PHS Wrestling team took to the mat at the 2012 District Tournament with 11 wrestlers and came away with 8, top 5 finishers and 5, top 4 finishers!! The 5, top 4 finishers qualified for the Region 1 Wrestling Tournament at New Kent HS. Congratulations to the following Wrestlers: 106 lbs. - Chase Lynch, 2nd place - RQ 113 lbs. - Mitch Long, 5th place 120 lbs. - Thomas Payne, 1st place - RQ Thomas was also named the "Bay Rivers Wrestler of the Year" ! 126 lbs. - Jeffrey Ogburn, 1st place - RQ 145 lbs. - Trent Graham, 3rd place - RQ 152 lbs. - Kody Farrington, 5th place 220 lbs. - Albert Kates, 1st place - RQ 285 lbs. - Tony Alsbrook, 5th place Please click this link to view PHS Wrestling's Facebook page! Youth Wrestling News Congratulations to the Youth Team for winning the "Elementary State Championship, K-4th" for the 6th Year in a row!! The tournament was hosted by Virginia Challenge and was held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex on January 28-29, 2012. ************************************* Congratulations to Patrick McCormick and Trevor Dunnagan for their 1st Place finishes as well as both of them receiving the "Outstanding Wrestler" award!
